A list of screenshots taking from the CSV 2 POST Plus edition of the plugin. See just why CSV 2 POST is unique in it’s approach to importing csv files by taking a look at the various interfaces. I’ll be development other data import software using the same techniques.

WYSIWYG Editor

The WYSIWYG editor allows you to highly customise your posts content with all manner of styling as you would when writing a normal blog post in WordPress! Only one other plugin that I know uses a WYSIWYG and it has very little functionality other than that.

New Campaign Stage 1

The first stage of setting up a csv import campaign on CSV 2 POST is basic but straight away you can see that the plugin is all about the “Interface” and it’s not anywhere near complete either. This first stage requires a campaign name for identification, selection of either “Full” processing for 100% import or “Staggered” for a more Google friendly publish rate, upload method including 2MB file upload or direct link by entering your file name, selection of a post content layout which can be customised and finally the option of your “Delimiter”.

New Campaign Stage 2

Now you start to see that this plugin has a different approach from other csv import tools. It may take sometime to understand the interface but once learned you will quickly realise the time it can save you especially if you import csv files too WordPress regularly. The second stage will list the titles of your csv file columns (if no column titles it will be actual data shown as the first row is used) and you must then pair each column with their “Post Parts”. This pairing processing removes the need to prepare your csv file before import; no need to name columns with specific titles, no specific order required and no specific data. You should not need to edit your csv file to work with CSV 2 POST in most cases.

Once done you then have the option of allowing CSV 2 POST to generate 100% accurate meta keywords, description and tags. This function is still to improve but with the right data the effects are maximum SEO!

New Campaign Stage 3

This is a basic stage and obvious to most WordPress users. You select the status of your posts to be created.

New Campaign Stage 4

Another key part to WordPress and it’s content on a unique interface. The fourth stage is all about setting up custom fields and as far as I can tell all possible needs are catered for. You have the ability to select “Automated” which creates custom fields using all your data for all your posts. This makes the entire process much quicker and very accurate but in short your custom fields needs are met by CSV 2 POST.

New Campaign Stage 5

This stage of my importcsv plugin for WordPress has the same flexability as Stage 4 with “Manual”, “Automated” and “Mixed” options in order to meet everyones needs. With the selection of a “Filter Column” all your posts can be automatically categories and your categories automatically created using your selected data. This stage suits most needs but will be improving in the near future to meet more advanced needs such as parent and child category filtering.

Campaign Management

The campaign management screen displays campaign settings, posts created by the campaign and allows you to pause, start or delete the csv import process on individual campaigns.
